Abbott Diabetes Care Blood Glucose Monitor Lifetime Warranty

The following terms apply wherever the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (in New Zealand) or the Trade Practices Act 1974 (in Australia) do not apply, or where the following terms are not inconsistent with those Acts.

Abbott Diabetes Care warrants that the meter shall be free of any defects in materials or workmanship, and provided it is not modified, altered or misused, will perform in accordance with specifications for the lifetime of the original meter user.  Abbott Diabetes Care warrants to replace any defective or non-performing meter with the same or most similar model available as determined by Abbott Diabetes Care.

Abbott Diabetes Care warrants the performance of the meter only if used as directed and provided that any failure to perform or misperformance of the meter has not been caused in whole or in part by the use of test strips that are not MediSense test strips manufactured by Abbott Diabetes Care.

Nothing in these terms is intended to have the effect of contracting out of the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (in New Zealand) or the Trade Practices Act 1974 (in Australia) except to the extent permitted by those Acts.

PLEASE NOTE:  This Warranty does not apply to meters supplied under the terms of a limited period contract.  The ‘Lifetime Warranty’ only applies to those who purchase their meter directly from Abbott Diabetes Care or its authorized New Zealand or Australian distributors and retailers.
