Which Unit of Measure Does My Country Use?

Where can I obtain a Log Book to record my readings in?

Call Abbott Diabetes Care Customer Service on 1800 801 478 between the hours of 8.00am-6.00pm EST, Monday to Friday, register your Lifetime Warranty, request a Log Book and we will mail one out to you.

What should I do for an Err 105 on an Optium™ meter?

Removing the batteries from the back of the meter, leaving them out for a few seconds, and then replacing them should rectify the problem. Try new batteries. If the problem persists, contact the Customer Service line.

What should I do about an E6 message on my TrueSense or Xceed meters?

Check that the strips are within the expiry date; ensure the meter is calibrated with the current strips, and check that the date and time are set correctly in the meter. If the problem persists, contact the Customer Service line.

Will Precision Link® Direct work on my computer?

The Precision Link® Direct software requires Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP. It is not compatible with MacIntosh. Your computer must have a serial port as USB is not currently supported, and it must have a CD-Rom drive. USB support is available via the purchase of a USB adaptor. Contact Abbott Diabetes Care Customer Service for further information about USB support.

What strips can I use in my monitor?

MediSense® 2 meter - Precision Plus™ Electrodes
Precision QID® meter - Precision Plus™ Electrodes
TrueSense™ meter - TrueSense™ Electrodes
Sof-Tact™ meter - Sof-Tact™ Electrodes
Optium™ meter - Optium™ Electrodes
Optium Xceed™ meter - Optium™ Electrodes

If you use incorrect strips with your meter it may not function correctly, and may give you incorrect results.

What lancets fit into my MediSense lancing device?

The lancets designed for the Abbott lancing device are called Abbott Thin Lancets.

What strips can now be used in the ExacTech meter?

The ExacTech® strips were discontinued on 01/11/2003. As the meter is not compatible with any other strips, customers with an old ExacTech® machine will need to purchase another Abbott meter

Do you provide batteries for my Optium meter?

The OptiumTM comes with two standard AAA batteries.  Replacement batteries can be purchased from a pharmacy or a supermarket.  We recommend that you use either a Duracell® or Energizer® battery.

Do you provide batteries for my Optium Xceed meter?

The Optium Xceed™ meter comes with a 3v Lithium CR2032 battery. Abbott Diabetes Care will provide one battery replacement per year.

Can I touch my test strips?

The test area on Abbott Diabetes Care test strips is covered by a protective coating. So yes, as long as your hands are clean and dry.

How can I test my meter?

You can purchase control solutions that are used to test the performance of your meter (see Accessories section on our website).

How can I perform a test on sites other than my fingertips?
